peter, Shabbat Shalom from Israel!

Is there difference between liking and loving in Hebrew?

When people asked Jesus about the greatest of all commandments, he answered without hesitation that the two greatest commandments had to do with

love - One was to be directed to the One True God and another to God’s imperfect people.

There are all kinds of people that we come across, some we like a lot, others we can tolerate, while others we can’t stand at all. But why are we discussing

how difficult it is “to like” some people and not what is really commended - “to love” them?

In many (if not most) languages there is a clear distinction between “liking” and “loving”. It is often said that God did not command us to like people, but to

love them instead! The problem is that there is no such distinction in Hebrew!!!

In Hebrew, one and the same verb is used for – “liking” and “loving” – leAhov. To love means to like and to like means to love. There is no difference!

Brain Tumor Symptoms

(Please, don't take your headaches for granted, check them out)

Just as you are a unique individual, each brain tumor is unique. In this article, we hope to help you understand some of the more common symptoms of a brain tumor. Think of the brain as the computer center for your body; each part of the brain controls a different function of your body. Symptoms depend on where within the brain the tumor is located. But be aware -- the symptoms produced by a brain tumor often mimic the symptoms of other diseases.

General Symptoms of a Brain Tumor

Headaches
Headaches are a common initial symptom. Typical "brain tumor headaches" are often described as worse in the morning, with improvement gradually during the day. They may rouse the person from sleep. Sometimes, upon awakening, the person vomits then feels better. These headaches may worsen with coughing, exercise, or with a change in position such as bending or kneeling. They also do not typically respond to the usual headache remedies.

There are many causes, and types, of headaches. If you are experiencing headaches, we encourage to talk to your doctor. He or she is best able to listen to your concerns, outline your medical and headache history, and determine the next "best step" in your care. Don't know where to start? A visit to your family physician, internist, or primary care provider is a good beginning. If you need or wish specialty care, "neurologists" are doctors trained in the workings of the brain, spine, and nerves. If specialty care is your preference, your family doctor can help you locate a neurologist who specializes in headaches.

To help your doctor better understand your symptoms, prepare for your visit in advance. Keeping a "headache journal"- when they occur, how severe they are, other symptoms that happen at the same time, and the type of remedies you try in an attempt to relieve your symptoms - will provide the doctor with a good overview of the nature of your headaches. Tell your doctor about any changes in your vision, nausea or vomiting, and the severity of those symptoms. After learning your concerns and asking specific questions about your symptoms, your doctor will determine the next step in finding the cause of your headaches.

Other Symptoms of a Brain Tumor:

Seizures
About one-third of people diagnosed with a brain tumor are not aware they have a tumor until they have a seizure. Seizures are a common symptom of a brain tumor. Seizures are caused by a disruption in the normal flow of electricity in the brain. Those sudden bursts of electricity may cause convulsions, unusual sensations, and loss of consciousness. Focal seizures -- such as muscle twitching or jerking of an arm or leg, abnormal smells or tastes, problems with speech or numbness and tingling -- may also occur.

Mental and/or Personality Changes
These can range from problems with memory (especially short-term memory), speech, communication and/or concentration changes to severe intellectual problems and confusion. Changes in behavior, temperament and personality may also occur, depending where the tumor is located. These changes can be caused by the tumor itself, by increased pressure within the skull caused by the presence of the tumor, or by involvement of the parts of the brain that control personality.

Mass effect
Mass effect is due to increased intracranial pressure, also called IICP. This increased pressure in the brain may be caused by a tumor growing within the tight confines of the skull, or by hydrocephalus - the blockage of the fluid that flows around and through the brain, and/or by edema - swelling of the brain around the tumor due to an accumulation of fluid. Mass effect can cause damage by compressing and displacing the delicate brain tissue. The symptoms caused by IICP include nausea and vomiting, drowsiness, vision problems such as blurred or double vision or loss of peripheral vision, and the headaches and mental changes already mentioned. A swollen optic nerve (papilledema) is a clear sign of IICP. It can be observed by your eye doctor when he examines your eyes. This sign is common in young children, in persons with slow growing tumors, with tumors in the posterior fossa, and in older patients.

As IICP increases, prompt treatment is required to avoid serious consequences. If you or your loved one is experiencing vision changes, severe/sudden-onset personality changes, vomiting, or severe head pains, please seek emergency medical assistance. This web site, and/or the ABTA staff, do not provide medical advice.

Focal, or Localized, Symptoms
In addition to the common, but non-specific symptoms listed above, other more specific symptoms frequently occur. These "focal symptoms" can help identify the location of the tumor. Focal symptoms include: hearing problems such as ringing or buzzing sounds or hearing loss, decreased muscle control, lack of coordination, decreased sensation, weakness or paralysis, difficulty with walking or speech, balance problems, or double vision.

EAT LOTS OF SWEET POTATOES

It's been said that God first separated the salt water from the fresh, made dry land, planted a garden, made animals and  fish... All before making a human. He made and  provided what we'd need before we were born. These  are best & more powerful when eaten raw.   We're such slow  learners...
God left us a great clue as to what foods  help what part of our  body!
God's Pharmacy!  Amazing!
A  sliced Carrot looks like the human eye. The  pupil, iris and radiating lines look just like the human eye... And YES, science now shows carrots  greatly enhance blood flow to and function of the  eyes.
A  Tomato has four chambers and is red. The  heart has four chambers and is red. All of the research shows tomatoes  are loaded with lycopine and are indeed pure heart  and blood food.
Grapes hang in a cluster that has the shape of the heart. Each grape looks like a blood cell and all of the research today shows grapes are also profound  heart and blood vitalizing food.
A  Walnut looks like a little brain, a left and right hemisphere, upper cerebrums and lower cerebellums.  Even the wrinkles or folds on  the nut are just like the neo-cortex. We now know walnuts help develop more than three (3) dozen  neuron-transmitters for brain function.
Kidney Beans actually heal and help maintain kidney function and yes, they look exactly like the human kidneys.
Celery, Bok Choy, Rhubarb and many more look just like bones. These foods specifically target bone strength. Bones are 23% sodium and these foods are 23% sodium. If you don't have enough sodium in your diet, the body pulls it from the bones, thus making them weak.  These foods replenish the skeletal needs of the body.
Avocadoes,  Eggplant and Pears target the health and function of the womb and cervix of the female - they look just like these organs. Today's research shows that when a woman eats one avocado a week, it balances hormones, sheds unwanted birth weight, and prevents cervical cancers. And how profound is this?  It takes exactly nine (9) months to grow an avocado from blossom to ripened fruit. There are over 14,000 photolytic chemical constituents of nutrition in each one of these foods (modern science has only studied and named about 141 of them).
Figs are full of seeds and hang in twos when they grow.  Figs increase the mobility of male sperm and increase the numbers of Sperm as well to overcome male sterility.
Sweet Potatoes look like the pancreas and actually balance the glycemic index of diabetics.
Olives assist the health and function of the ovaries
Oranges, Grapefruits, and other Citrus fruits look just like the mammary glands of the female and actually assist the health of the breasts and the movement of lymph in and out of the breasts.
Onions look like the body's cells. Today's research shows onions help clear waste materials from all of the body cells. They even produce tears which wash the epithelial layers of the eyes. A working companion, Garlic, also helps eliminate waste materials and dangerous free radicals from the body.

Please don't break this even if you only send it to one person. Look at the date when this was started. Thanks

NOTICE AT THE END, THE DATE THE CANDLE WAS STARTED.

1Th:4:13: But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.1Th:4:14: For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.1Th:4:15: For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.1Th:4:16: For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:1Th:4:17: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.1Th:4:18: Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

Heart of Gratitude!!!

A blind boy sat on the steps of a building with a hat by his feet. He held up a sign which said: "I am blind, please help." There were only a few coins in the hat.

A man was walking by. He took a few coins from his pocket and dropped them into the hat. He then took the sign, turned it around, and wrote some words. He put the sign back so that everyone who walked by would see the new words.

Soon the hat began to fill up. A lot more people were giving money to the blind boy. That afternoon the man who had changed the sign came to see how things were. The boy recognized his footsteps and asked, "Were you the one who changed my sign this morning? What did you write?"

The man said, "I only wrote the truth. I said what you said but in a different way."

I wrote: "Today is a beautiful day but I cannot see it."

Both signs told people that the boy was blind. But the first sign simply said the boy was blind. The second sign told people that they were so lucky that they were not blind. Should we be surprised that the second sign was more effective?

Moral of the Story: Be thankful for what you have.. Be creative. Be innovative. Think differently and positively.

When life gives you a 100 reasons to cry, show life that you have 1000 reasons to smile Face your past without regret. Handle your present with confidence. Prepare for the future without fear. Keep the faith and drop the fear.

The most beautiful thing is to see a person smiling…

And even more beautiful is, knowing that you are the reason behind it!!!

Enjoy your day with a heart of gratitude

Never, put your banana in the refrigerator!!!

This is interesting.

After reading this, you'll never look at a banana in the same way again.

Bananas contain three natural sugars - sucrose, fructose and glucose combined with fiber. A banana gives an instant, sustained and substantial boost of energy.

Research has proven that just two bananas provide enough energy for a strenuous 90-minute workout. No wonder the banana is the number one fruit with the world's leading athletes.

But energy isn't the only way a banana can help us keep fit. It can also help overcome or prevent a substantial number of illnesses and conditions, making it a must to add to our daily diet.

Depression: According to a recent survey undertaken by MIND amongst people suffering from depression, many felt much better after eating a banana. This is because bananas contain tryptophan, a type of protein that the body converts into serotonin, known to make you relax, improve your mood and generally make you feel happier.

PMS: Forget the pills - eat a banana. The vitamin B6 it contains regulates blood glucose levels, which can affect your mood.

Anemia: High in iron, bananas can stimulate the production of hemoglobin in the blood and so helps in cases of anemia.

Blood Pressure: This unique tropical fruit is extremely high in potassium yet low in salt, making it perfect to beat blood pressure. So much so, the US Food and Drug Administration has just allowed the banana industry to make official claims for the fruit's ability to reduce the risk of blood pressure and stroke.

Brain Power: 200 students at a Twickenham (Middlesex) school were helped through their exams this year by eating bananas at breakfast, break, and lunch in a bid to boost their brain power. Research has shown that the potassium-packed fruit can assist learning by making pupils more alert.

Constipation: High in fiber, including bananas in the diet can help restore normal bowel action, helping to overcome the problem without resorting to laxatives.

Hangovers: One of the quickest ways of curing a hangover is to make a banana milkshake, sweetened with honey. The banana calms the stomach and, with the help of the honey, builds up depleted blood sugar levels, while the milk soothes and re-hydrates your system.

Heartburn: Bananas have a natural antacid effect in the body, so if you suffer from heartburn, try eating a banana for soothing relief.

Morning Sickness: Snacking on bananas between meals helps to keep blood sugar levels up and avoid morning sickness.

Mosquito bites: Before reaching for the insect bite cream, try rubbing the affected area with the inside of a banana skin. Many people find it amazingly successful at reducing swelling and irritation.

Nerves: Bananas are high in B vitamins that help calm the nervous system.

Overweight and at work? Studies at the Institute of Psychology in Austria found pressure at work k leads to gorging on comfort food like chocolate and crisps. Looking at 5,000 hospital patients, researchers found the most obese were more likely to be in high-pressure jobs. The report concluded that, to avoid panic-induced food cravings, we need to control our blood sugar levels by snacking on high carbohydrate foods every two hours to keep levels steady.

Ulcers: The banana is used as the dietary food against intestinal disorders because of its soft texture and smoothness. It is the only raw fruit that can be eaten without distress in over-chronicler cases. It also neutralizes over-acidity and reduces irritation by coating the lining of the stomach.

Temperature control: Many other cultures see bananas as a 'cooling' fruit that can lower both the physical and emotional temperature of expectant mothers. In Thailand , for example, pregnant women eat bananas to ensure their baby is born with a cool temperature.

Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD): Bananas can help SAD sufferers because they contain the natural mood enhancer tryptophan.

Smoking &Tobacco Use: Bananas can also help people trying to give up smoking. The B6, B12 they contain, as well as the potassium and magnesium found in them, help the body recover from the effects of nicotine withdrawal.

Stress: Potassium is a vital mineral, which helps normalize the heartbeat, sends oxygen to the brain and regulates your body's water balance. When we are stressed, our metabolic rate rises, thereby reducing our potassium levels. These can be rebalanced with the help of a high-potassium banana snack.

Strokes: According to research in The New England Journal of Medicine, eating bananas as part of a regular diet can cut the risk of death by strokes by as much as 40%!

Warts: Those keen on natural alternatives swear that if you want to kill off a wart, take a piece of banana skin and place it on the wart, with the yellow side out. Carefully hold the skin in place with a plaster or surgical tape!

So, a banana really is a natural remedy for many ills. When you compare it to an apple, it has four times the protein, twice the carbohydrate, three times the phosphorus, five times the vitamin A and iron, and twice the other vitamins and minerals. It is also rich in potassium and is one of the best value foods around So maybe it's time to change that well-known phrase so that we say, 'A banana a day keeps the doctor away!'

PASS IT ON TO YOUR FRIENDS

PS: Bananas must be the reason monkeys are so happy all the time! I will add one here; want a quick shine on our shoes?? Take the INSIDE of the banana skin, and rub directly on the shoe...polish with dry cloth. Amazing fruit!

Church of God 7th day National Ladies Convention 2010 Theme: Arise and build Theme verse: Nehemiah 2:18 Overseer: Pastor Gerald Rowe (thornton) Asst overseer Pastor: Alfred Salmon (barton) President: Missionary Rose Williams (haughton) Asst. President: Sis. Christine Barrett (rosalie) The Day’s activity was pre-arranged by the Almighty as we were blessed with a beautiful day of bright sunshine backed by blue skies with a backdrop of green mountains coupled with heavy showers of blessing. The expected un-expected was fully in place and the choir from Kingston was ready consisting of the Rosalie fellowship and this being so we began at the hour of about 9:30 after a flow of praise and worship with the Hymn # 231 ( To the work )was used to open the service with Sis Arnold who was in charge of the first section of the service. Missionary Brooks appointed then opened in prayer and the Scripture reading was taken from Nehemiah 4:1-13. Sis Cole then took the service over from Sis. Arnold and went to encourage the gathering regarding our relationship with God. Then the chorus: Consume me Lord was wonderfully rendered by the congregation and Pastor Mullings prayed a prayer of consecration of the service to the lord after which the Assistant President Sis Barrett addressed us and to extend welcome to all the Ministers, individual churches and visitors. The choir was then asked to render a song for the collection of the offering. We then proceeded into testimony service and Sis Chambers was asked to be the first to testify then Deaconess Rose Williams from Kingston followed on to bring greetings, followed by Sis Crystal Brown with a testimony and song. Bro Gregory Simpson from Mount Rosser, then followed by Bro. Robert Brown from 7 miles, Harbour view then followed by Pastor Roy Sawyers from Maroon town, the Overseer and Pastor Gerald Rowe from Williamsfield. The chorus was then sung “Every time you see me clapping my hand” and Missionary Byfield was then asked to pray for the speaker of the day who would be Missionary T. Wolfe from the Maroon town assembly followed by the chorus “He came looking for me. The message was based on the theme arise and build. The message was truly Power-pack as the Holy Ghost empathize that we need to rebuild on the already laid foundation who is Jesus Christ. The message was truly fulfilling and down to earth. Time was then taken to examine the theme song on the program titled My house is full. The Ministers were then prayed specially for those who came forward, after which the benediction was enunciate by Pastor Peter Collman. The Choir then sung a closing song while the entire congregation was directed to the back of the Tent to greet the Ministers thus bringing the worship to an end and in time for Lunch. The Lunch time period was well spent as everyone departed to partake of their lunch covering a wide menu consisting of Rice and peas, fried chicken and gravy, vegetable salad, pudding, ackee and saltfish, boiled yam , soup and a variety of colored and delicious drinks. The Host minister was Pastor Williams and he was deeply involved in the culinary affairs of the kitchen and we must say here that the food was bone-cracking, finger licking and tummy full. Lunch being out of the way, and a change of scenery by the Almighty Painter we were provided with a sprinkle of rain with a new back drop of grey cloud and a spray of gentle breeze which beckons us to return to our tent as we were about to be engaged in a discussion on the topic: Dating and Courtship under the experience counselor of Missionary Robinson of the Thorton’s assembly. This session was a welcomed meat in due season activity and plenty was garnered by all as we were blessed to hear from many regarding their experience and how we should step by step plan this matter with God’s divine assistance, always remembering to in all our ways acknowledge him and he will direct our path. (Proverb:3:6) All this being placed into the cupboard of our hearts, we all joined in the Praise and worship session followed by the marching in of the evening choir to begin our evening service with the chorus “Yes I’ll rise again” under the direction of choir master Bro. C. Forbes of the Cobbla assembly. Another change in scenery was apparent as the night began to fall and the stars popped out their shining to illustrate a night’s welcome of our presence. On the Platform were the Ministers namely Pastor G. Rowe, Pastor L. Mullings, Pastor R. Sawyers accompanied by Pastor R. Howell. The opening remarks were declared by Deaconess Francis from the St. Faith assembly and Hymn # 251 (stand up for Jesus) was engaged by the choir after which Missionary Wright was beckoned to open in prayer, the scripture reading was taken from Nehemiah 2:10 to the end , comments being made the choir then sang for the evening offering titled the church triumphant which was presented in an orchestrated manner. The Usher for this session was Deacon M. Brown from Joehut’s assembly and Bro. Dwayne Reid from the Barton’s assembly. Then there was a handing over of the reins from Deaconess Francis to Deaconess Haughton as the choir tuned in the Chorus “ I’m out here on your work Lord, followed by the chorus Rise up then I feel like pressing my way. O my God the place was on FIRE and the Fire department had to be called, fortunately all was consumed by the Holy Ghost like on the day of Pentecost. (Acts 2:1-2) Deaconess Haughton instructed us to build with a plan and made reference to Hebrew 12:12-13. She admonished us to build with acceptable material after which she called upon Bro. Dwayne Reid to give a few words in which he made reference to the plumb line and this cause more fire, after which she called upon Bro. Forbes who could not find any word as he was still under the anointing, then to Bro. D. McKenzie, more fire, then to Bro Chambers who delivered an heart rending experience as to how God stood for him through the many incidents that the adversary was trying to plague him with, Sis. D Brown, more fire, with the chorus “Massa God a God” being uttered from her lips and then the choir sang “He set me free “ which made way for Pastor R. Howell, more fire and finally Pastor L. Mullings brought closure to paved the way for the preacher of the night under the direction of the Holy Ghost, Sis Latan Mullings, fire now out of control. Just before the preacher from the Leeds assembly the choir rendered the song If I’m too high, Lord bring me down. Words are not available to express the glory of the Spirit of God performance through our sister but we know that our souls was overly watered. Upon completion of the message the ministers laid hands and prayed for a refreshing of her body. The Musicians for the convention was Damion Elliot on the Keyboard, Errol Denton on the percussion instrument and Bro. C. McPherson on the guitar. An altar call was made which was largely supported and Pastor L. Mullings prayed, followed by the Benediction and Missionary R. Williams from the Thornton’s assembly came forward to issue the giving of thanks and closing remarks thus bring our spiritual fiesta to an end. Admin/pc 23.10.10.

Jesus teaches on fastingM't:6:16: Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.M't:6:17: But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face;M't:6:18: That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.M'r:2:18: And the disciples of John and of the Pharisees used to fast: and they come and say unto him, Why do the disciples of John and of the Pharisees fast, but thy disciples fast not?M'r:2:19: And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them? as long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast.M'r:2:20: But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, and then shall they fast in those days.M'r:2:21: No man also seweth a piece of new cloth on an old garment: else the new piece that filled it up taketh away from the old, and the rent is made worse.M'r:2:22: And no man putteth new wine into old bottles: else the new wine doth burst the bottles, and the wine is spilled, and the bottles will be marred: but new wine must be put into new bottles.

Yes this is true and is worthy to be repeated that a family that stays together will pray together. Our God loves family life and he desires you to be apart of his family. So do so now and accept him into your life. M't:11:28: Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Joh:7:37: In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.

THE SILENT SERMON

> This is very up lifting!  It blessed me today, I am sure you too will be blessed.

> A member of a certain church, who previously had been attending services regularly, stopped going.  After a few weeks, the pastor decided to visit him.

> It was a chilly evening. The pastor found the man at home alone, sitting before a blazing fire.  Guessing the reason for his pastor's visit, the man welcomed him, led him to a comfortable chair near the fireplace and waited.
>
> The pastor made himself at home but said nothing.  In the grave silence, he contemplated the dance of the flames around the burning logs.  After some minutes, the pastor took the fire tongs, carefully picked up a brightly burning ember and placed it to one side of the hearth all alone then he sat back in his chair, still silent.

> The host watched all this in quiet contemplation.  As the one lone ember's flame flickered and diminished, there was a momentary glow and then its fire was no more.  Soon it was cold and dead.
>
> Not a word had been spoken since the initial greeting.  The pastor glanced at his watch and realized it was time to leave.  He slowly stood up, picked up the cold, dead ember and placed it back in the middle of the fire.  Immediately it began to glow, once more with the light and warmth of the burning coals around it.
>
> As the pastor reached the door to leave, his host said with a tear running down his cheek,  'Thank you so much for your visit and especially for the firery sermon. I will be back in church next Sabbath.
>
> We live in a world today, which tries to say too much with too little.  Consequently, few listen.  Sometimes the best sermons are the ones left unspoken.
